What is Emotionally Focused Therapy?

EFT is based on clear, explicit research-based conceptualizations of individual growth, strengthening relationships and lowering relationship distress.

One pillar of EFT is the evidence-based research on how having safe and secure loving relationships continues to be important throughout a person’s life.

Emotionally Focused Therapy Services

Individual Therapy

Often at the core of psychological and emotional distress relates to past or present conflict or disconnection in relationships.with people who have significance. Individual therapy is a way to address and begin to resolve relationship conflict, estrangement or distance

Couples Therapy

Couples who would benefit from marital therapy often find themselves in a pattern of on-going conflict that escalates and resolves poorly.  Couples report,  “we keep having the same fight over and over”.

Family Therapy

Couples consider seeking family therapy when they are not on the same page about the issues and/or how to proceed, or when the “let’s wait and see if things improve” strategy is resulting in increased conflict or stress on the marriage.
